We are studying principles of learning and memory. In particular, we are asking what are the mechanisms that allow for efficient and yet noise-free learning and memory. We are also interested in how the brains prevents from competing memories from being formed. Research at the lab is from the molecular and cellular level, through systems neuroscience and up to behavioral output. We are looking for talented M.Sc. and Ph.D. students for an ERC fully funded project. Work at the lab includes in vivo 2-photon functional imaging and electrophysiology, optogenetics, tissue culture, behavior experiments and genetics.
